Congratulations (212° style) to our shining 8th grade students for doing a wonderful job on the Georgia Writing Assessment. --- Leading the way for Middle School within the MCSD.

     The eighth grade students took the Georgia Writing Exam back in January. The exam is an evaluation of each student response to an assigned prompt. Students are assigned a topic from a prompt bank representing two genres: expository and persuasive. Over 89% of our students met or exceeded standards on the Writing Exam compared to 70% for the Muscogee County School District and 75% for the State of Georgia.

     A special thank you goes out to our 8th grade Language Arts teachers, Ms. Chang, Mrs. Kauffman, Mrs. Woodrum, Mr. Young, Mrs. David, and Mrs. Thompson for their hard work and dedication. Let’s not forget our wonderful 6th & 7th grade Language Arts teachers who have also played an enormous role in preparing our talented 8th grade students.
